      George Arenson Laid at Rest
The burial of George Arenson, whose sudden death shocked this community last week, took place last Wednesday at 2 p.m. from Trinity Church, Rev. L. F. Reishus officiating. Interment was made in Trinity Cemetery.
Mr. Arenson, owner of the Brooten garage, was a prominent business man, with a wide acquaintance. He will be missed by his many friends and associates but most of all by his brave and loyal wife, who is left alone with the responsibility of the welfare of nine children. The sympathy of our townspeople goes out to her.
Mr. Arenson was born in the Town of Rolling Forks, May 13, 1872. Was married in 1900 to Ida Evenson. He has been for a number of years engaged in the automobile business in Brooten and had lately built a roomy and well equipped garage to take care of his growing patronage.
The cause of his death was Bright's Disease. He was suddenly stricken while at work in his shop and died last Saturday morning at 5 o'clock.
An immense gathering of people came to attend the funeral exercises, a great many from out of town.

      WEDDING IN BLUE MOUNDS

At the home of the bride's parents in Blue Mounds township, on Wed. June 20, occurred the wedding of Miss Ida Evenson and George Arneson. The ceremony was performed at the Langhei church by Rev. Pederson in the presence of a large gathering of relatives and friends of the contracting parties. The usual feasting, with bowery dance, wedding gifts, etc. were the leading details. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Evenson, a very amiable young lady and the groom is a son of Gregor Arneson of Gilchrist township. They will make their future home at Belgrade where Mr. Arneson holds a position as engineer in a flouring mill. That life's sweetest blessings may be theirs, is the wish of their many friends.

  • Notes
    • A conversation with Ruth Syverson Hauser about her uncle George Arenson.
George, like the others in the family, was a very kind and patient person, never raising his voice. He was sweet and gentle. When daughter Mabel (same age as Ruth) had a birthday, George came home from work, cleaned up and took Mabel and the other kids on a car ride about town (Brooten).
George was asphyxiated while working on cars "down in the pit".
