      Clarence Evenson Rites To Be Held Tomorrow

      Funeral services will be held at Walker's Hope Lutheran Church at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 28 for Clarence S. Evenson, 54, well known automobile salesman of the region who died at his Walker home shortly after 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 24. Rev. A. T. Tjornhom, pastor, will officiate.
      Mr. Evenson died of cancer, for which he had vainly submitted to considerable surgery at the University Hospital, Minneapolis, during the past two months. Immediate members of the family who survive are his wife, Helen, two daughters, Janice and Dorothy, and two sons, Richard and Sam, all of Walker. Interment will be made at Evergreen Cemetery at Walker with Thomas Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

      Funeral services were held at Walker's Hope Lutheran Church at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 28, for Clarence Samuel Evenson, 54, well known automobile dealer and salesman of the region. Rev. A. T. Tjornhom officiated. Mr. Evenson died at his Walker home on Tuesday, August 24, a victim of cancer. He had been in ill health for several months and had submitted to major surgery at Asbury Hospital, Minneapolis on July 6 this year. He is survived by his wife, Helen, two daughters, Dorothy Clarice and Janice Lorraine, and two sons, Richard Quentin and Samuel Edward, all of Walker; seven sisters, Mrs. Ida Robinson, Brooten MN; Mrs. Jennie Olson and Mrs. Sarah Rye, of Glenwood MN; Mrs. Annie Erickson, Rice Lake Wisc.; Mrs. Mabel Huset, Mrs. Florence Bredeson and Mrs. Alice Kennedy, all of Walker, and three brothers, Henry J. of Portland, Ore. Emil of Glenwood, and Gilman of Walker.
      Serving as pallbearers were James Arenson of St. Paul, Leland Huset, Miltona, MN; Robert McMullen, Hibbing, Arvid Bredeson of Walker, Earl Evenson of Kansas, and Allen Kennedy of Walker, all nephews of Mr. Evenson. Honorary pallbearers were Russell Greer, Harlan Skare, Milo Dahly, Orville Ellis, Nels Bergly,and Marion Kennedy, all of Walker and Ray Tabaka of Longville. Interment was made at Evergreen Cemetery, with the Thomas Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.
      Clarence Samuel Evenson was born January 21, 1900 to Sam and Ingri Evenson, at Starbuck, MN. His childhood was on a farm near there. At the age of 9 years he moved with his parents to Cass County, locating near Walker where his parents took a homestead. In 1934 he was united in marriage to Helen McMullen of Hutchinson, MN.

Mrs. Clarence Swift, Morristown, MN, Mrs. Delores Ferris, St. Paul, Mr. and Mrs. William Disrud and Mr. and Mrs. Sam Workman and sons of Brainerd; Leland Huset and family of Miltona; Mr. and Mrs. Jack Baker, Kerkhoven; Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Hoffman, Nashwauk; Mr. and Mrs. L. Larrimore, Superior, Wisc.; Mrs. Harry Jurgenson and Mrs. Dewey Carrigan of Wirt, MN, and Alvin Mueller of Hibbing.
