  	Pope County Tribune May 3, 1963 Rites Held Here Last Week For Mrs. Sarah Rye Funeral services for Mrs. Martin (Sarah) I. Rye, 71, of Glenwood were held from the Glenwood Lutheran church on Monday, April 22, at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. John L. Spencer officiating. Leo Sylvester sang "Abide With Me" and "Jesus Saviour Pilot Me" accompanied by the organist, Mrs. Margot Wells. Interment was in Fron cemetery, Starbuck. Pallbearers were Robert and Paul Kirkwold, Vernon Hegg, William Birney, George Tauber and Richard H. Olson. Sara I. (Evenson) Rye was born in Pope county September 7, 1891, the daughter of Samuel and Ingri Evenson. She lived in Pope county most of her life, the past two and one-half years making her home with Christ and Henry Holten. She was a member of Glenwood Lutheran church. Mrs. Rye died very suddenly on Thursday, April 18, from a coronary attack at the home of her daughter in Los Gatos, Calif., where she was visiting. Survivors include two sons, M/Sgt Clifford Berg of Layton, Utah, and Aurthur E. Berg of Alexandria; three daughters, Mrs. Herbert (Esther) Kirkwold of St. Paul, Mrs. Lawrence (Doris) Unruh of Las Gatos, Calif. and Mrs. Dale (Shirley) Oman of Ypsilanti, Mich.; 12 grandchildren; and one great granddaughter. Other closely related survivors are Ida Robinson, Brooten; Henry Evenson, and Mabel Boe, Portland Ore.; Jennie Olson and Emil Evenson, both of Glenwood; Annie Erickson, Rice Lake, Wis.; Gilman Evenson, Florence Bredeson and Alice Kennedy, all of Walker. Her parents and one brother preceded her in death.
