      Celebrate Silver Wedding Sunday
      (Glenwood Herald??)
Mr. and Mrs. Emil Evenson are honored at their home June 4th.

Several hundred neighbors and friends from near and far gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Evenson of Rolling Forks on Sunday afternoon, June 4th to remind them that they had been married twenty-five years. A blustering wind that came up during the day, made it impossible to have the program on their beautiful lawn as planned. It became necessary to retire to his barn loft which had been prepared for such an emergency.

The toastmaster for the occasion was C. O. Ettesvold of Glenwood. The msuical part fo the program consisted of a cornet solo by Selma Amundson, songs by a group of neighborhood children, a song by four nieces and one nephew of Mrs. Evenson, a vocal solo by Earl Thompson and a piano solo by Bernice Solvie. Brief talks were given by Mr. B. G. Signalness, Dr. C. R. Christenson, John Jacobson and Rev. G. G. Beito. The speakers dwelt on the part that Mr. and Mrs. Evenson had played in the wholesome development of the community in which they live and their contribution to their church, their neighbors and friends. The many that were present from near and far was indication of the respect and esteem in which they are held. Rev. Beito, on behalf of Mr. and Mrs. Evenson, thanked those that had come to honor them on their silver wedding day, and for the contributions given. A purse of silver was given to the honored guests as a token of remembrance of the day.
